نویسندگان: خلاصه: SELLING OPTIONS GIVES OPPOSITE EXPOSURE As a call option gives long exposure to the underlying security, selling a call option results in short exposure to the underlying security. Similarly while a put option is a bearish (profits from decline in the underlying) strategy, selling a put option is a bullish strategy (profits from a rise in the underlying). While the direction of the underlying is the primary driver of profits and losses from buying or selling options, the volatility of the underlying is also a driver. OPTIONS TRADING GIVES VOLATILITY EXPOSURE If the volatility of an underlying is zero, then the price will not move and an option’s payout. is equal to the intrinsic value. Intrinsic value is the greater of zero and the ‘spot – strike price’ for a call and is the greater of zero and ‘strike price – spot’ for a put. Assuming that stock prices can move, the value of a call and put will be greater than intrinsic due to the time value (price of option = intrinsic value + time value). If an option strike is equal to spot (or is the nearest listed strike to spot) it is called at-the-money (ATM).

Iran’s nuclear weapons program has alarmed the international community since the 1990s, but has come to the forefront of international security concerns since 2000. This book argues that Iran’s hostility with the United States remains the major causal factor for its proliferation activities. With the US administration pursuing aggressive foreign policies towards Iran since 2000, the latter’s security threat intensified. A society that is split on many important domestic issues remained united on the issue of nuclear weapons acquisition after the US war in Iraq. Consequently, Iran became determined in its drive to acquire nuclear weapons and boldly announced its decision to enrich uranium, leaving the US in no doubt about its nuclear status. This book underscores the importance of protracted conflicts in proliferation decisions, and underpinning this is the assumption that non-proliferation may be achieved through the termination of intractable conflicts. The aims of this work are to demonstrate that a state’s decision to acquire nuclear weapons depends largely on its engagement in protracted conflicts, which shows not only that the presence of nuclear rivals intensifies the nuclear ambition, but also that non-nuclear status of rival states can promote non-proliferation incentives in conflicting states inclined to proliferate. This study will be of great interest to students of Iran, Middle Eastern politics, nuclear proliferation and international relations theory. Justice was often remade from the margins by magistrates, judges and others at the local level. His book also focuses on four specific themes - gender, youth, violent crime and the attack on customary rights. In doing so it highlights a variety of important changes - the relatively lenient treatment meted out to women by the late eighteenth century, the early development of the juvenile reformatory in England before 1825, i.e. before similar changes on the continent or in America, and the growing intolerance of the courts towards everyday violence. This study is invaluable reading to anyone interested in British political and legal history.

There has been a notable failure in the field to situate the historical projects of colonialism and imperialism in the determinant contexts of the inception, consolidation and development of the modern world system, whose developmental logic is that of combined and uneven development. Even on the best postcolonialist accounts, imperialism is typically situated in civilisational terms and refers to ‘the West’ rather than to capitalism. The social and temporal power identified through this means is a euphemism. The idea of ‘the West’, as it is deployed in postcolonial studies, inevitably issues in a dematerialised — and, for that matter, unhistorical — understanding of the forces powering the world system over the course of the past 500 years. This case is argued through reviewing work by Edward Said, Andre Gunder Frank, Benita Parry, Fredric Jameson, Susan Bassnett, V. Y. Mudimbe, Rey Chow and novelists such as Ngugi wa Thiong’o and Ousmane Sembène,inter alia.
